Fightmaster grew up in Cincinnati. They attended DePaul University in Chicago and graduated with a degree in women's and gender studies.

A native of Ohio, he was a member of The Second City's Chicago and Touring Companies. They also previously performed with an English-language comedy troupe called Boom Chicago in Amsterdam.

Fightmaster is not only an actor, but also a musician. They formed a band with another comedianMike Avilesin 2019. They convinced Aviles to name the band Twin because they are a twin.

The author starred as Frans (Lolly Adefope) Love interest Emily on theAidy Bryant-continued Hulu series during seasons 2 and 3. “Working with the cast and crew ofShrillspoiled me," they wrote viaInstagramin May.
